Joe Schubert, CEO and Founder
Joe’s extensive B2B marketing experience and vivid imagination sparks the vision that characterizes Schubert Communications’ professionals. He takes great pride in the agency’s B2B Sales-Centric Marketing ™ approach based on many years of B2B client support.
With honors degrees from Villanova University and the University of Pennsylvania, Joe began his professional career in engineering, marketing and sales management at Sperry Univac (now Unisys). Prior to founding Schubert Communications in 1978, Joe was a partner in O’Hare and Co., where he carried out major planning and communications consulting projects for IBM, AT&T, Southern Telephone and Digilog Systems, among others.
On the personal side, Joe’s interests are many: theater, golf, flying, skiing, painting and fishing. Joe also served as president of the Philadelphia Advertising Tennis association for five years and was one of the founders of the Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival.
Rich Carango, President
As Vice President of creative services, Rich serves as the creative gatekeeper – making sure every project meets the high creative and strategic standards clients have come to expect from the agency. And, he’s kept clients coming back since he started with Schubert in 1994.
Rich heads a team of designers, programmers and copywriters who create advertising, brochures, direct mail, logos, interactive media…and the list goes on.
Beginning his career at Schubert as a graphic designer, Rich has risen through the ranks as art director, lead art director, account executive and now creative director. His designs have won several top awards from the Business Marketing Association including several Bell Ringer and ProComm awards. Also, under his direction, Schubert’s creative team has won gold medals from the Business Marketing Association and the Art Directors Club.
Rich holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in design from American University (Washington, D.C.). When Rich is not in the office he may be judging awards for the Web Marketing Associations (five years running now), spending time with his wife and children, or catching up on the past – Rich is a huge history buff and actually minored in anthropology while at American.
